I have a 2007 focus 2.0 tdci my mechanic says it's got a timing belt but the internet says it has a chain. Do any of you guys have the same engine or know what it is worried as it's done 92000 now.

With the shorter belt and 2 of the pulleys gone, and less stress on the belt (drives the alternator/ does not need to drive the AC) The other thing is the TDCIs (2L/ 2.2L) have about a 700 rpm tickover, the engine tends to rattle and shake at tickover (often the rattling AUX pully goes away when you raise the revs) - the TDDI has a 900 rpm
